We switched to standard costing 5 years ago. As far as I know you do not
need to take everything out of inventory or update the costs manually.
As long as you have a BOM created for the parts that you are change to
standard cost you can do a cost roll for those parts and it will update the
cost along with what the inventory is valued at.

You are going to love this....Since Vantage has no global method of
re-valuating inventory you need to do everything manually:
1) Make sure your BOMs are setup properly and all parts have proper
costing
2) Any parts you want to change costing for that are in stock need to
be adjusted out
3) The part costing method needs to be changed for each part (I hope
you have the Master File import tools)
4) The parts need to be manually adjusted in under the new costing
method.
