We heard you… we are changing the voting structure very soon (within the next few weeks or sooner). Once complete, the new voting structure on Epicor Ideas will be:
You may vote for an Unlimited number of ideas(the 50 vote limit will be eliminated).
Each user will have a limit of one vote per idea.(this used to be one to three… now only one vote).
Historical ideas (those before this change takes happens) will retain their current votes, even if more than one vote. No need to remove your historical votes.
haha… yup, this was just approved today. Initially it was approved but a delayed release date, but most of us on the committee suggested “the sooner the better”… we voted to release ASAP. there are still a few hoops to jump through to get the features turned on.
This is fantastic news! Not to look a gift horse in the mouth but, I’m curious why the decision was changed when Epicor had so adamantly defended the 50 votes limit previously. Now to find a new profile pic.
Reason for the change? The initial decision was a group decision. Some of us wanted to open up votes, and others of us did not. The “Group” was under the instruction to have all of Epicor work under the same voting rules. Since Epicor is made up of many products, with various product managers, each had their own correct reasoning for their decision. The initial decision was to stay “status quo” until we received more feedback from all the teams using Epicor Ideas.I “Adamantly defended” the decision, because I work for Epicor, and was explaining our reasoning.
And we received feedback. It turns out that it wasn’t just the Kinetic customer base with an opinion… the P21 customer base also “voted” with you (on a separate P21 idea) to remove the limits. We received lots of good feedback for “why”.
I am part of the Epicor Ideas Committee that meets twice per month, and ever since January, this has been an ongoing discussion. The decision was pretty much made a month ago, but it was yesterday that we made the final “go” decision.
So… does Epicor Ideas work? Yes… this was one of the ideas.
Do we use it for “real” Kinetic ideas? Yes. Hundreds of votes are being freed up with the 2023.1 release. There are over 1000 votes that are planned to be release because we are completing ideas for the 2023.2 release. Epicor Ideas is shaping the future of kinetic.
