MFG-PCK transaction?

We have a BAQ that looks up the ship date of a serial number by looking at the SNTran table. It looks for MFG-CUS or STK-CUS transactions. This has worked for several years but recently recevied a report it wasn’t returning a ship date for a serial number and I found it’s because there were no MFG-CUS or STK-CUS transactions. The “shipping” transaction appears to be MFG-PCK which I’m not familiar with and couldn’t find anything on this forum or epic web when searching for this string. I’ve added this as another transaction to look for to identify ship date, but hoping someone could help me to understand what this transaction indicates or if there is any documentation I could look at to educate myself on it as maybe there are other transaction I should be looking at…

Looks like you have a make-to-order job and MFG-PCK is adding the serial to the pack slip. Transaction type is usually something like FROM-TO which in this case is manufacturing to packslip. I guess the next transaction will be MFG-CUS of something similar after you ship that pack.

Can you tell us if your current version is 10.2.400?

If that is the case then here the MFG transactions as of E10.2.700

I don’t see that transaction type anywhere, by any chance do you have custom posting rules?

We are still on 10.2.400. I’m not aware of any custom posting rules, this is the first time I’ve ever seen this transaction myself…

Do you use Package Control?

It’s not in the Tran Hierarchy. SNTran has some types that are not in there. I took a closer look at this and, from what I can see in our DB, all MFG-PCK transactions we have were done years back when we were on Epicor 9. Also, they are always followed by a MFG-CUS. I don’t know if this helps.

No not as far as I know.

Sounds like it is short for “ManuFacturinG - to - PiCK”. Is it created during the picking process? Something that moves from the group of available SN’s, but not quite sent to the customer yet.

If memory serves me, the MFG-CUS parttran transaction isn’t created until the packer is marked shipped.

By having the MFG-PCK tran, it can be moved out of WIP and be staged for a Packer, but not yet be shipped.
