Method of Manufacturing History 10.2.500

Hello All,
I am trying to create BOM history. We do not create multiple revisions(new revisions for a part) for a part. Our current process is as follows:
Check Out User creates new ECOgroup each time > checks out part revision > prints a report that compares current bom(PartRev,PartMtl,PartOpr,PartOprDtl) vs changes(ECOPartRev, ECOPartMtl, ECOPartOpr, ECOPartOprDtl) > saved to ssrs server
the
Approver checks in and approves all revisions > prints approval report(PartRev, PartMtl, PartOpr, PartOprDtl) > saved to ssrs server.

Can I get some more ideas on how to keep a history of BOMs? Any input is appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome @OCMHua !

You should be able to get all the history you want with your current process. The ECO tables are the ones you want to report against. They store every ECO so you should be able to pull the part and revision only and see every ECO it was checked out on.

This is true as long as you always use a new ECO Group for each change… but if you reuse the ECO Groups, then the data inside the group will get replaced with the newly checked out BOM/BOO.
The actual BEST way to keep track of changes is to create a new revision for each time you check out the parts. This allows you to use the built in revision compare process (that we just improved in Kinetic 2024.2).

Thank you for confirming!

Thank you for confirming. I will definitely let my team know for when we upgrade to Kinetic!
