MES Menu Issues

We are having issues with Green Tags being printed from our MES screen. I have included screen shots of every step with numbers to coincide with the steps below.

1-user logs in with their ID number, in this case, 3095 is Brandon.

2-Brandon goes to start production activity on Job 278066-2-1, then ends activity on that job. He fills in the quantity of 9 and clicks print tags.

3-All the data correct carries through to the print tag screen where he chooses server printer, and the tag prints out.

4-correct tag is printed.

5-Brandon goes to end Job 268067-1-1 and fills in the quantity of 45 and clicks print tags.

6-when the print tags screen pops up, the previous quantity of 9 is in the field, and the header of this window is the incorrect part number. It reads 245.8.4150 from the previous job, even though it should say 245.11.4675.

7-when they print the tag off, it still has the old job and all of that data with it printed.

This is slowing down our production in all departments that use green and pink tags. Tubing, Steel Prep, Welding… Have you seen this before, and how would we fix this?

Update: I have a call with Epicor later today and will post any findings that they have.

Did someone save defaults on the tag? Try going into the tag and removing defaults and see if the tag prints correctly.

Have you tried the base SSRS tag report style? We found out the hard way that the MtlTag data comes from a ton of places/

Yes and I still had the same results.

Do I have to do this for the user that logs into MES, or can it be anyone? Also, is there a way to tell if there are defaults saved to it now?

I believe it is user specific. So for us mostly that would be for the user “Shop” generic log in on the MES terminal. But sometimes an actual “User” on the system logs in to look something up on the MES terminal and changes the log in so you would need to reset that as well.

This did not work.

We use the ‘meshib’ user to login as the generic shop login. I reset my username as well, and that didn’t clear the bug either.

From your screen shot on your 278067-1-1 job it looks like you are reporting “0” qty. Does it print correctly if you enter a qty >0?

Yes. Only when the first person makes a transaction in MES though. Then everyone after them gets the same tag that is printed from the very first person. I am on the phone with Epicor and we did try dev mode and base only on every screen. That seemed to have fixed it, but my question is why? There must be a customization that is messing something up right?

UPDATE:

A phone call with Epicor concluded that it is a customization on one of the screens that is causing this issue. We did change the workstation method from Default to Machine Name + UserID, and so far, our tubing department and welding department is saying that it is working. Not sure what the exact fix has been so far, but I will give it a few days before I select a solution. Just wanted to update everyone.

Nothing to update here. There is one interesting thing I guess. When I open Test MES, everything works just fine. This is only happening in Live MES.

Are the users actually closing the print tags report screen after printing and it is not still open in the background? If it is still open in the background, the data will not refresh the next time they click the print tags button. It will simply bring the window into the foreground and not update.

Yes they are closing the screen. I have performed these tests as well.

Another update!!

The user, meshib, is the common login for our shop floor. When I log into the MES station as myself, jkunsch, there is no issue. That means that it can only be the username being the issue. Now, what is the issue you ask? Not a clue yet. I will try making another user to see if that fixes it. Thanks for all the help so far everyone!

The issue was with the user. I made a new username for all the people on the shop floor to log into, and all the tags work now.
