MES Functionality

Blake, absolutely.

Subject: [Vantage] MES Functionality

We want to start using MES for our shop employees. Right now we have one
office person whose sole responsibility is to print Job Travelers & Job
Labels and feed them to the shop workers. The shop workers then return
the Job Traveler to this office worker who then makes any necessary
corrections to the Job or completes the Job if there is nothing wrong
with the Job. Our thought is to place terminals in our shop at each
"Shop Line". Then each line can print their own Job Travelers & Labels
as needed and complete the Jobs when finished. Does this sound like
functionality that we should be able to do with MES?

Thanks,

MES is pretty locked down from a licensing stand point. Epicor doesn't
want you to have a lot of 'Vantage' functionality at a reduced price! I
would think that since job tracker is accessible through MES that
printing would not be an issue for you. I can say that Job Closings and
Completions and Job Entry won't be available through MES and that a full
client install (along with a license for anyone logged in) would be
required here.
