We’re getting ready for a pilot tomorrow and just my luck I find an error in our MES screen. We’re using the classic screens for now. I can log into MES as an employee and start a production activity just fine. When I click End Activity I get this error:
To my knowledge we shouldn’t have any customizations or UD items on our MES. Maybe it was something created by one of the consultants we’ve had over the years working with us.
I’ve looked at the customizations, menu maint. UD tables, everywhere and I can’t find this UDMES1 menu item.
Any ideas how I can find and turn off or delete this to get MES working again?
Side note: In the Kinetic MES form the End Activity works with no problem. However Production wants to use the classic form for the shop.
TIA
Check your client config file on your local computer.
I believe it’s close to the top of that file.
You will need to modify that file on each computer that uses MES or push it with GPO it something.
Yeah, thanks. I did look there and the value is blank. I was thinking it is a customization somewhere but I can’t find one anywhere I look.
Have you tried writing a BAQ to search the menu DB table for that value in case you visually missed it in Menu Maintenance?
Well I did several queries on the menu, menu security, customizations, Zdata and UD tables but didn’t find anything. I’m not sure where else to look.
Working with someone from Epicor today and we discovered the problem. In our legacy 9.04 system someone had made some customizations for Start Production and End Activity on our MES screen but either didn’t deploy them or we just turned them off. Anyway, these came over during our conversion to 2022.2 and that’s what gave the errors.
I was able to delete them in the Process Calling Screen. Once deleted the MES screen works as it should. If we want or need customizations moving forward we will build them in our new system after going live.
