Menu Structure & favorites

OK, So I had a moment. The reason my tables looked useless was that I was
looking at the wrong database. Sorry guys. But thanks for the input. I
realized my error as soon as I recieved Wayne's report.:)

Wow, that's a pretty lame answer :( There is no way within Vantage, but
you can write a report to find it. I attached one for you (cc'ed to
Mark) that I've used to track them down.

If you're in Menu Structure Maint, take note of the MenuID that won't
delete (should be UD.... something) Then you can add a filter to the
report, FavItems.MenuName = 'the_offending_menuid' to see who is
referencing it.

Another annoyance... when you delete a user, it does not clean up the
favorites or security items associated with it (actually, one of those
*might* have been corrected in a 5.x release) If the favorites item
belongs to a non-existent user, you'll have to temporarily add that ID, log
in, and delete the favorite that way.

Hello Group,
I have been doing some spring cleaning in menu maintenance. When trying to
delete a particular custom report from a menu I get the following message
"Delete not allowed. Referenced by at least one Favorites Folder." There
is no ref to which user has this report in his favorites folder.
Tech support say's "There is no way within Vantage to track what user has
the custom report linked to their Favorites menu. You will have to check
each user one at a time."
In a perfect world where users are always available I could probably get
this done in a day. In my world where each user wares many hats it would
take me weeks to track each one down, have them log on, then check their
favorites list.

Does anybody out there have a better idea? I have tried looking at the
favitems table and the favfolder table. They seem to be non-functional. At
least for this problem.

TIA
Mark
What I do, (since I control the passwords) sit at my machine and login on
their ID. It doesnt matter whether they are logged on or not. If you have
the logins you can do it from your desktop.
