Menu Maintenance is not allowing me to change anything on any existing menu (like to enable a new customization).
All fields are greyed out on every menu. I have Security Manager checked, and I can create new menu items on Menu Maintenance, and then those new items are not grayed out.
This is In 10.1.600.6 on a newly migrated database from 9.05.702A. Another instance of 10.1.600.6 with a database upgraded from 10.0.600 does not show this problem, on the same server.
I am running the client from the Epicor server itself logged in as domain Administrator, and logged into Epicor as the Manager user. I have full access to the client folder. But, I still can’t change any existing menu items in Menu Maintenance.
I copied another local client folder from an older test install, but still on the server, then recopied all the 10.1.600.6 files into that folder. Still can’t change menu items.
Any ideas?
I don’t think the original menu items are editable. I got around that by making a duplicate and then disabling the existing one.
Edit:
In our environment (10.1.600.8) It won’t let me select the customization in the field, but it is not read only. Any experts know a better way to do this?
For the record, I contacted Epicor Support for the issue of all Menu Maintenance fields being grayed out. They had me ‘reset the database’ with a SeedCS task (described in 17348MPS), but that did not resolve my Menu Maintenance issue. Only other suggestion was to re-migrate the 9.05 database again. I ended up doing just that, since I am in testing phase and have a few more migrations planned before I go live anyway. Now my Menu Maintenance screen does allow all fields to be changed. They did not have any real explanation for how it could have happened or how to prevent it from happening again.
And note that my issue was that I could not change any fields - they were all grayed out. A separate issue is the one that Brandon mentioned, that customizations must be set to ‘all companies’ to show up in the customization drop down.

I suggested to the analyst to have you review the read-only setting on Menu Maintenance within Menu Maintenance in your migrated 10.1 db. Was that relayed to you regarding the menu maintenance grayed out issue?

BTW, if one were to set Menu Maintenance as read-only within Menu Maintenence we will let them, but, one can’t undo that within Menu Maintenance so that I’ll be submitting that has an enhancement
Yes, my Epicor support guy did have me look at the Read Only field on Menu Maintenance page of Menu Mainenance, and it was NOT checked. But, thanks for the suggestion. That would have been a lot easier than a migration.
