Then I would simply make a little dashboard that you can enter the job either in a tracker view or as a parameter and group by material part number and sum up your quantities, filter by what's already been issued and you should be good to go.

Yes and No. A lot of the subassemblies are basically the same part numbers but, different quantities. We are trying to prevent the person issuing the parts from issuing 5 different parts over 50 times. Once we create the job we are combining materials on the top level.

What are you looking to total them up for, purchasing demand? If so, look to your PO suggestions for that, you can also control what those suggestions look like by utilizing parameters under part/plant set up. Either way, that's a simple BAQ query/dashboard against the JobMtl table.
