Material costs in RMA's

Not sure if this is the situation you are referring but I thought it might help…





If you receive an RMA against a SO it will look at the COGS sold, if it is not against a SO the system will attempt to find any shipments for that particular part for that particular customer and use that COGS. If it cannot find any shipments it will default to zero and not to the current (avg, standard, etc) inventory cost.

Hi all,

I'm trying to make some modifications with our Vantage 8.03.405 RMA section. I pretty much have everything except the various 'unitcosts ' (there is like 6 of these) in the parttran and rmapcpt tables after doing a receipt and disposition.

I've checked all over and nothing seems to make sense to me. Sometimes the part or receipt record has some costs, sometimes they don't, and if they do, they don't have the same cost types fields filled in all the time. What makes it more interesting is the costs in those various 'unitcost' fields don't agree with the partcost table. Some have 0 an some have a value and I can't figure out why this is the case, and if a good chunk of these have 0 in the field, if a value is needed at all for any of the records.

So, does anyone know when the fields in the parttran and rmapcpt various unitcosts fields get populated (are they necessary?) and where Vantage seems to beam these numbers from? I'd really appreciate any help on this!!
