Manual labor entry

Only time I have experienced this is when Accounting has pull in the costs
on a job. You can no longer adjust the time through labor edit, try the Job
Management\General Operations\Job Adjustment program.

Subject: [Vantage] manual labor entry

Curious if anyone else has experienced this problem. We are currently doing
manual labor entry (Job Mgmt./Gen. Ops./Labor Entry). We can go back and
Update Detail on certain dates, but we are not allowed to Update Detail on
some dates. It does not appear to be related to certain jobs. I have no
pattern of dates that this occurs. Is there a time frame that labor entries
are allowed to be edited? Our Labor Entry does not feed our payroll, they
are two separate functions.

THANKS JIM,

THANKS JIM,
If you are attempting to edit labor entries from a CLOSED period Vantage
will not allow this. They are "locked in" during the Close Period function.

when you run the Capture Inventory/WIP Report and post it,
edit capabilities to labor records is disabled.
That is why we run it at month end only and after all
departments have had a chance to screen their labor
records. Then one individual is permitted to run the
report.

If you are in Vantage 4.0, and if accounting runs the Inventory/WIP
reconciliation for a fiscal period, the labor details are locked for that
fiscal period. Check the dates of labor entries instead of the job numbers
and see if you can tie it together like that.

Any labor transactions that were in the system prior to the WIP/Capture post
being run and that are for the date period the WIP/Capture post was run will
be frozen.

It does not matter if labor entry feeds your payroll or not or if you post
upon running or not.
We have excatly the same problem, and like yourselves can't find a
pattern!
Sophie
