Make customization available to other users - SOLVED

I have created a customized version of the Order Entry screen and created it as a second menu item. Our users can see the menu item, but cannot open it. Here is what I have done:

Customized the OE screen to add a UD field.
Saved the customization as ECPO
Created a new menu item (under menu maintenance) for Order Entry - ECPO.
The new menu item has the same security ID (SEC078) as the system Order Entry menu item.
The only difference I can see between the original and the ECPO version is that the System Menu checkbox is checked for the original one.

Users can see the menu item, but when they click on it, it won’t open.

Any ideas on this? How do we make it available so others can use it? I can see the menu item and it opens for me but I don’t know if that’s because of my permissions (I have very broad permissions) or because I am the one who created it.

Thanks.

Just throwing this out there in case it was overlooked (sometimes, it’s the simplest things…) Is the Enabled checkbox checked?

Thanks. Yep, it is. Was speaking with one of my colleagues and she thought there is a publish function, much like when you deploy a dashboard. So am going to look for that next. Did not see it in the training materials.

Thanks for the thought.

Do you work on a dual monitor system, and does the new screen open on your second monitor? Have the users who can’t see it look at their taskbar… hover over the Epicor icon, and if it shows that screen actually open have them right-click to minimize it then right-click again to maximize.

Thanks!!! Yes, that was it. My secondary monitor is bigger than my primary, so I do all my work on it. Re-saved the customization on the small monitor and did all the menu work there and… voila, it works.

Thanks so much.

Great thinking @Ernie! I learned the hard way about Epicor and dual monitors a few years ago when I first started working in Epicor and have always just worked on my primary monitor to eliminate that problem from happening again. I didn’t even consider this an option for him because I no longer use my secondary monitor to work in Epicor…ever! Kudos to you for thinking of it and solving @skhayatt’s problem!
