Maintenance Inventory

Hello,
Have anyone tried adding maintenance consumables and assets into EPICOR. Our goal is to add frequently used consumables-spare parts, lubricants used for machines in inventory, add a location and number of items and track them so that when it goes below a critical level we would know.

Where do we start? Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You should be able to make these items “Non Stock Items” on the Part Master and set the Min/Max to a desired amount. Then you can issue the inventory and add a reference to track where they get consumed through Part Transaction History Tracker. Would that work for you or is there some other criteria that must be met?

Thankyou Fernando for your reply.
We are using parts maintenance for the parts we manufacture. So I should create a separate part type for Maintenance consumables and assets?

I don’t think that would be necessary on the Part Type, it should fall under the “Purchased” category (unless you guys are manufacturing the parts). You can make a Class ID for Consumables or something more appropriate though. Happy to help! Let me know if you have any other questions.

That’s a good start. I will start working on this.
Thanks again for your time. Yes I will keep in touch.

I do not think you can create Part Type. These are system types.

You will have to manage through the use of Product Group, Part Class and Analysis codes etc.

Hello guys, much thanks for the help.
So, we have completed building out parts codes located in 2 rooms names store A and B.
1.What is the best practice in adding location here? Our part code have 2 digits assigned to identify store A or B. How can I add two stores in EPICOR.
2.If I want to add specific location in the store say an aisle, row and shelf, can that be added too?
