Lots of Parts

I think these are your options, a custom program from Epicor or a
competent consultant. Hire a fleet of temps teach them to use the
Duplicate function and go. Hand enter all of them.

Time constraint on custom programming should match close the time
constraint on the temps.
For hand enter figure 2 minutes each by an average skilled operator or
333 hours.
Cost constraint of custom programming should match hand enter cost,
about.
Cost and time constraint should be the least with the temps but that is
offset by a roughly 80% correctness rate.

I’d pick based on what’s more important time or cost. Or what your
management perceives is less painful.

No easy way, and all are going to be painful.

Sympathies

Subject: [Vantage] Lots of Parts

Sorry if you receive this twice, the first post hasn't appeared in my
inbox.

I have a good one for your brains.

We use Quick Pen for estimating here.
Quick Pen has its own version of the "part master"

We have just be awarded a job which has in excess of 10,000 parts.
These parts have already collected into a bill of material in Quick Pen

We only consider a very small number of items in our Vantage part master
as "stock items" and are tracked as such.
All the rest of the material items we purchase, are purchased
specifically for a job.
So having all items in the part master is not necessary for us.

Now the tricky part.

How can I import all 10,000+ parts directly into a job in Vantage?
Is this even possible?

Rich
