LOTs in WIP

Has anyone been able to add lots in WIP?

Could you share what you are wanting to accomplish by adding lots in WIP? Might help us better answer your question.

I did something like this where a client where they had make direct jobs that were stored in the warehouse until the actual shipment and they needed to make sure they were pulling the correct lot when time came to ship. We created a BPM to create lot numbers on WIP when doing a move request.

Sure thing. Some of our jobs consist of making Turf. In WIP all we can see is the Square Footage reported and see it move through the operations. Sometimes the product has to go through two subcontract operations. Currently all we can see is how much square footage is in each subcontract op. When the SF is originally reported on the first op we print of labels (one label per 1,000 SF = 1 Roll) that will eventually be the lot for that set amount of square footage (when it’s received to inventory). We would like to be able to add those lots on the first op (in WIP) so we can see what lot is at which location.

We utilize a UD table for this. When they report quantity the UD record is created and a label printed.

Does your UD record stick to a qty of 1 or to the total qty reported? We may report a qty of 1500 10 - 30 times per job.

I have it set so each time they report a quantity it creates the record for that amount. The same for us we may report quantity 10 times for an OP on a job of multiple variables of quantities for each.

Can you share the information of the UD field you created? What table and how you tied it in to stay with a certain qty.

Are you in 10.2.300 like your profile says? I uplifted this to Kinetic, but I still have a copy backed up of the classic customization.
