Link question getting Part Revs

you could sort partrev by effectivedate descending, and make a formula to
see if the partrev you are looking at is the first one you see.

make the following formula (exact syntax depends on if your using RB or
Crystal):
previous(partrev.partnum> <> partnum

and filter out all the ones for which that formula returns false.

That's what I'd use to just display a list of the latest revs. However,
inserting this logic into your already complex report will slow it WAY down.

If your using crystal, you could do a dbf export of the latest part revs and
link to that.

We unapprove old revisions, then you could filter on just approved ones.

Hope everyone had a good 'non-labor' weekend.

I've written a report to audit Parts with incorrect Standard Costs. (We just
converted to Standard Cost this weekend).

The basic report links the PART table with PARTBIN and works fine.

Now I want to see where each part is used (Top Level): So I link to the
PartMtl to the Part table (link on Company field, and also link from
Part.PartNum to PartMtl.MtlPartNum.
The problem is that now I get a line for every revision of the
TopLevelPartNumber. How do I link so that I just get the most recent
revision from the PartMtl table?

Thanks, Patrick. That looks like the best route at this point. Checking only approved (PartRev) revisions shortened things up quite a bit. We'll have a few parts to clean up in the process.
