Limit visibility to Bin or Warehouse

We have a request to essentially not allow our Sales team to see quantity that has been received but not yet put away. We already have our Receiving bins non-nettable, but since they can see the quantity there, they start asking the warehouse crew to put it away.

Is anyone limiting access to a warehouse or bin? Ideally using base functionality.

Thank you!

Tanya,

I usually resolve this issue with Training on the onhand vs available quantity or using an inventory dashboard which does not include non nettable bins.

Which Epicor tool does the sales team use to review onhand inventory?

Part Tracker - they are fully aware of how to look at onhand and available quantities, what is happening is they see that items have been received, and then they bother our warehouse crew with phone calls asking for the putaway to go faster, so they can release orders to fulfillment.

Note that “Non-net” also means that MRP cannot see it either. When MRP cannot see inventory, it will make new orders to fulfill demand. SO… making something that is non-net just to hide it from certain people is not a great idea.
Also note that parts that are “picked” but not shipped also still show in inventory. I have seen instances where sales people see that inventory and ask for it.
A better option would be to create a special dashboard that shows only the inventory that you want to show, hiding any special warehouses/bins.
