I'm not sure how much Rob Brown from Versa Products is still on the list but
he'd be the first to tell you that lean is about removing non-value
operations. From a lean perspective, ERP systems do not add value. Sure, it
sounds harsh but the Japanese did a lot of their scheduling with visual
systems and no computerized systems. That doesn't mean you can't use
Vantage/Epicor but just keep in mind what you're trying accomplish -
removing non-value-added operations!!!
