Labor entry calulation errors

We have a similar problem but it only happens when the employee is clocked
into indirect labor and clocks out a 2400. This gives 0 labor hours but it
does feed the hours into payroll. If the employee clocks out 1 minute
before or after midnight everything is fine. When we adjust it in labor
entry detail everything is fine. Our call no. to tech support is 693580MPS.
Support is looking into it but could not recreate the problem so we had to
send our database in. We are on 5.00.320

Has anyone seen the Labor entry screen show an employee only to have like 4
hours on a particular day when in fact he/she has 8 hours. I can go into
the labor edit screen and change the clock out time by 1 minute and then the
labor edit screen will show 8 hours not 4 like it is supose to.
This is real time consuming when you have over 50 data collectors and 200
users.

I have recently used GASP (pointed to it by Microsoft site) and found it
quite useful. Like you say with Track-IT it does have quite a list of
'unidentified software'. It does go further than looking at the name, size,
date of a file and looks at the version information as well.

When I downloaded (http://www.attest.com) it was free for 60 days for less
than 100 PCs which is perfect for taking a snapshot, attending to any
issues, taking another snapshot, print all your reports (or export to
Excel), and remove the software.

Brian, sounds like this would be useful for us as well. Can you give me the
web-site address for this software? Thanks

We are currently evaluating Track-it! from Blueocean Software. It can be
installed on a server and you run an audit program on each client PC, which
sends a list of all the software it recognizes and the hardware config. It
can also track the unrecognized software, if you wish. It also has help desk
tracking, but we are not looking at those features.

Roy,

The situation you're describing will happen if a person using Data
Collection punches into two (or more) operations at the same time. Vantage
divides evenly the number of hours spent on the concurrent jobs by the
number of jobs on which the person worked.

However, if you later edit the time in Labor Entry, Vantage will recalculate
the hours on that Labor Detail record using only the clock-in and clock-out
times, ignoring any other jobs that might have been worked on at the same
time. In fact, you don't even have to change either time, but mearly tab
through the clock-in and clock-out times and the total hours will change.

This also happens if a person is on an indirect code all day long and
punches into a job during part of the day (we have that happen with our
shipping guys as well as inspection). This one is harder to spot because
the start and end times of the two activities are not the same.
