Labor edit report

I am looking for a report builder report that is a labor edit report.
It will show subtotals by week and break them into regular and overtime
hours.

It was sent to me several years ago and we forwarded to several other
people who requested the report, however, it has been lost somewhere in
that never never land of our database.

Hi,

I was just wondering whether anybody has seen this before;

My understanding was that when you complete a job then it will
automatically mark all operations as completed. I can see that this is
not always the case. It seems to happen with sub-con ops and some
backflush operations.

thanks

I have contacted Vantage Support several times regarding mass
updates/changes and the only method that they are suggesting is through
their Custom Solutions Department. I contacted them and they are
extremely
high in price and lead time is a minimum of 8 weeks. I currently use
Michael Barry from Aspacia Systems Inc. for these changes. 866-566-9600.

Maybe you could look at their data import tools, these can update
records based on certain criterium.

When we implemented 6.1 from scratch I needed to some things like
this. I don't know if these are available to established users...
Hope this helps.

actually not in the Report Style.

We're finally moving to Shop Floor Data Capture.
We've bar coded Employees, Job Travellers etc etc.
We're using a Wasp CCD Scanner and individual reads are great.
Here's the question.
Is there a way of getting Vantage to interpret a combined/concatenated
code?
We'd like the operators to scan a single code to Start Production
Activity.
The code will be a concatenation of Job, Assembly and OpSeq rather than
3
separate entries.
I know that $I equates to TAB and have constructed a code which reads
*123456$I0$I10* where 123456 is the job, 0 the Assembly and 10 the
OpSeq.
The problem is that Vantage reads the entire value into the Job Number
field
rather than separating into its 3 constituent parts.
Am I asking the impossible or am I missing something obvious?
As always, all help gratefully received

Richard,
The answer is in the barcode reader. You need to enable the "extended
code
39" barcode. The reader does the translation.
Good luck,

I have a BAM setup that alerts us when the PartWhse.OnHandQty goes below
the PartPlant.MinimumQty. The email alert always indicates the correct
MinimumQty but the OnHandQty is not always correct.

Sometimes on a STK-STK Transaction the alert gives me the transacted
quantity where I should get the OnHandQty. Other times I get the
amount in one bin even though the Part is in multiple bins.

I am unsure how to troubleshoot this. Can anyone tell me how the
OnHandQty is calculated and could Vantage possible be putting a
temporary value in the OnHandQty until it is properly calculated?

Try PartBin instead of PartWhse.

Subject: Using Global Alerts

Please let me know how or if anyone has experienced this problem and
has a solution. We would like to use Global Alerts to send emails to
the respective parties to let them know if changes have been made or
require their attention (ie. inventory, ECO changes, etc.). We don't
host our own email exchange and utilize an outside service. In
addition, we connect through SBC as our smtp server. Therefore, in
order to connect to SBC server, we need to use an authentication
process which is currently not part of the functionality of Vantage
6.1. The supposed workaround is to then use the virtual smtp server
from the microsoft server to act as the go-between. Unfortunately, all
the messages get stuck in the queue in the server because SBC doesn't
like something about the messages sent by Vantage and drops the
connection. Thanks for any help.

You are not alone. What SBC does not like is the LF.LF. vs. the correct
format of CR LF. CR LF. For ending emails.
Epicor has stuck their head in the sand on this issue and has refused to
acknowledge a problem. The answer is "Microsoft accepts it" and
therefore
my request to have this changed has been refused several times.
Your only alternative that I am aware of is to set up a mail server for
yourself and use it. I have done this now with two companies. If I am
not
mistaken the problem is specifically Qmail refusing to accept the faulty
mail. With SBC I am sure you are not going to get them to change, so
taking
it over yourself or finding another that can host you that does not use
Qmail are the only options.
Please do submit the problem to Support though. The more people that
report
this as unacceptable the better.
Good luck,
Aaron Hoyt

Subject: AP Checks

We just went live with Vantage 8 this last week! The CFO is wanting
the invoice date (along with invoice number, amount etc) to print on
the check stubs. I went into Crystal to make this change but there
does not seem to be an invoice date field in the APTran or CheckHed
file. Does anyone already have a customized form out there for this?
If so, could you share what file you used or e-mail me a template?

Subject: 6.1: Spanish AP Checks

Hello,

We are trying to do without purchasing the Spanish Translation of
Vantage. When printing AP Checks, the amount in words are in English.
I was able to use the ToWords function in Crystal to generate the Amount
In Words but it is still in English, even if I set my system to Spanish.

It looks like I need to purchase the Spanish Edition of Crystal Reports
Professional to get the Spanish version of the dll that is used in the
ToWords function.

If I do this, how do I run English and Spanish on the same server?

Does anyone have a better work around? I am going to have to repeat
this same thing with German?

Does anyone know if I did purchase the Spanish Translation from Epicor,
would it generate the correct Amount in Words for the AP Checks?

I can't find any reference to the words to be translated in the
translation screen?

Thanks
Jeremy

Subject: Handheld computer for Tool Crib

We are looking at setting up our tool crib with a security portal that
would help us increase the accuracy of the tool crib area. What we want
to do is set up a hand held unit with Vantage 6.1 on it to make
available to employees who need to check out tools when the tool crib
manager is not available. This hand held would need to be set up so that
they could do the invty transactions as needed. Currently we have a bar
code system to check tools out. Can we just load a client program on the
hand held or is there a separate data collection module we need to
utilize?

Any direction or ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Melissa
