Label Printer

Thanks Aaron, good recommendation. I'll go ahead and order one.

Ok, in a very informal test using our label software "BarTender" it does
print just fine on the 2844. There are a few exceptions noted though, like
the barcode font is a little odd and would require some tweaking. It seem
to handle truetype fonts though, and the formatting seemed ok as well.
My guess is, with some limited testing and playing with fonts, you will have
something that works just fine.
I have found the UPS printer that we have had for a couple of years now,
seems to be getting "light spots". I have cleaned it, but I am suspecting
due to the nature of direct thermal labels, the print head might be getting
worn. This is just speculation though. Otherwise this seems to be a rather
trouble free printer. Basically be sure you have drivers, have power and
have a data connection and it just works. The only problems I have
encountered with it have been related to on of those three issues.
I am not sure how much quantity I would want to put through this printer,
but our UPS one I would say prints on average 10 to 15 labels a day problem
free.

Good luck,

Aaron Hoyt

We use two of them...I think...I believe that is the model both FedEx and
UPS gave us with their shipping packages. We don't use them for anything
else, but they are set up as standard printers seem to do a good job
printing the labels for each of the carriers.
The more I think about it, we also have a Zebra S500 on the same computer
for printing 4X6 packaging labels, and I would imagine I could use one of
them for that instead. In fact I will give it a try in just a couple of
minutes and let you know how they work for me.

Does anyone have any experience with a Zebra/Eltron TLP2844 label printer?

I'll be using it for shipping, receiving, and inventory labels.

My old MX-80 dot matrix just can't cut it anymore. And it won't do
barcodes.

Thanks
