Knowledge Mentor 803.403d

Interesting. Always looking for a great screen capture or video editing
program...other than the Premier Pro (that is just so beyond my
available time to learn)

We are using Adobe Captivate and it works great for us. It can
automatically add all the callouts (i.e. Click Menu) and you can also
create interactive videos where the viewer has to actually do all the
clicking and typing themselves. It also has text to speach capability.
When recording in a certain mode, the video is actually just a slide
show with an animated mouse. This makes it really easy to delete certain
actions and insert other recordings in the middle.

Has anyone purchased and is using the Knowledge Mentor and Authoring
Suite program? Could you please provide any feedback pros and cons of
this program. TIA.
Program looked nice, but they are a bit too proud of it. Check out this
freeware that has some of the same functionality.

I downloaded Captasia Studio this weekend and it is slick. I have a 30 day free trial and then it's $300. The video capture and editing are really easy to use and there are a lot of useful effects like zooming in and out, adding text, circling areas of the video, etc. I have some experience using iMovie and I was up and running on it in an hour. But, the knowledge mentor tool might be better in that it also outputs a written process document and apparently has some ability to update with version changes. I saw an example at Perspectives last year and it looked very good. I imagine for a larger company the price differential might be worth it.

Use Camtasia and like its simplicity and smooth video display, zoom, et
al, also. Jing is free and...is hosted for free on the Jing
website...all by the makers of Camtasia (Techsmith). Just thought I'd
share this, not sure of the proposed purpose of the video capture and
the quality needed.

I just ran the demo of EKM - in addition to screen recording, it seems to have the ability to evaluate input and score the responses. This would be very beneficial in training.
