Kinetic Web Browser - Can We Open New Tabs from Homepage by Default?

There’s got to be a simple setting I’m missing - How can I default the Kinetic homepage in my browser (Chrome) to open new tabs, rather than loading in the existing tab?

What’s weird is that if I click on my BAQ homepage shortcut, it opens a new tab. Yet when I click on UD Column Maintenance, the existing (homepage) tab re-loads as UD Columns maintenance.

If I hold shift when I click, BAQ opens in a new window, while UD Columns re-loads (replaces) the homepage.

We’re on 2022.2.8, if that matters.

I guess there isn’t a setting? In which case, why is BAQ and UD Columns behaving differently?

Thanks all!

Andris

Whenever you open the BAQ maintenance screen, it always opens a new tab. Don’t know why it behaves that way. :man_shrugging:t2:

If you mean BAQ Designer - it is a separate Angular project, so it is not part of MetaUI screens.
Same with BPM, and probably Application Studio.

I think this is forthcoming in a future release, right? I want to say very soon.

I just tried in the 2023.2.4 using the web browser Kinetic UI. Went to the Kinetic Homepage, then drilled down to Job Tracker and clicked it. It overwrote the homepage, rather than opening in a new tab :frowning:

For the side menu you can use ctrl + click to open in a new tab. (Or right click on the menu item and do open in a new tab. I don’t think the big blocks on the main menu work with this.

Not a default setting that I know of.

Is there some chrome plug in magic that could do this? @josecgomez @hmwillett?

No those links are invoked via router link path calls in angular and short of some really elaborate dom hacking you are SOL unless and until Epicor adds the option.

If you put in an Epicor Idea I’ll vote for it
