Sorry this might be a super simple one… we are trying to upgrade our Test environment to 2024.2 release, first time doing an upgrade without support.
I’ve mounted the file to the VM server and ready to run through the installation as per the release instructions but hesitant to proceed if this could update our UAT environment which also sits on the same VM server.
Does anyone know if there is a way to push the release to only one environment please? As we don’t want UAT upgraded at this point, just Test.
You can specify which DB/App pool you want to upgrade in the Admin console. I haven’t had issues running different versions of Kinetic on the same app server.
Ahh perfect thanks so much!! The release installation almost feels like it’s going to overwrite everything! But I guess specifying the db/app pool is the second step?
Just run through the upgrade guide a few times and it should make sense. Make sure you snapshot your server before you start and if you make any mistakes you can revert back. (assuming you are running sql on the same machine, if not do a database backup of your test first).
