I am starting to build / modify dashboards in application studio and I need to add a column to a BAQ grid. I added the column in the BAQ and ordered it how I need it but when I switch to app studio data view, the columns are in alphabetical order with no apparent way to reorder them.
I also tried adding the BAQ through the provider model but did not see a way to hide columns that should be hidden from the user.
On other grids I’ve taken the approach to structure the BAQ exactly how it needs to display and then add it to the provider model of a panel grid card.
I think… regardless of whether it is a BAQ Dataview or a grid referencing a BAQ… you alter the visible columns in the Grid Model > Columns.
You have to add them one at a time, in the order you want them displayed.
If you’re using a DataView, I think ALL columns in that view are available. You have to add the ones you want visible by default (in the order you want them) in Grid Model > Columns.
Any columns you don’t add here (I think) are still available to add via “Personalization”. I want to say, if you don’t want a column visible there (to add via personalization)… those are the columns you add under Grid Model > Columns Hidden.
Its been a minute, so I would test this. Add a column to “Columns Hidden” and see if it is available/visible under personalize columns.
Once I used “Guided Setup” the experience improved. The dataview imported with the columns in the correct order and then in Grid Model > Columns I noticed a tickbox named “hidden” at the bottom of the options, so I sorted through the available columns and hid those that needed to be.
