Jobs completed vs received

If you are using average or last cost, receiving more than the job qty will generate a zero cost inventory receipt & skew average/last on 8.03.409a.

BPMs on job receipt will cold stop that and also at least warn if trying to short receipt the avail prodqty reported on the last OP.

Another issue with production reporting.Â
Â
The qty completed does not match qty received in job tracker. Material issued is for qty completed.Â
Example:
JOB 123 for 10,000 widgets.
MES > Log in > Start Production Activity > Report Qty (500) > End Avtivity > Log Off
MES > Material tab > Material Queue > (hi-lite part to be Processed) > Process >Job Receipt to Inventory > (500 Reported moves into inventory)Â
Â
0 Completed and 500 Received in JOB 123.  No material issued but 500 in inventory. Resulting in $0.0 cost to produce pieces.Â
Any ideas what steps are being done wrong or ......?Â

Check the quantity complete on the last operation or  operation marked as the final operation.  That should be your difference between Prod Qty and Quantity Complete.

As far as to why the material wasn’t issued – what is your procedure on issuing material?  Are you backflushing?

We're backflushing material.  We only report material no labor.

Check the related operation on the material.

Then check the labor quantity on that operation.

The quantity is what issues material.

We're backflushing material.  We only report material no labor.

Check the quantity complete on the last operation or  operation marked as the final operation.  That should be your difference between Prod Qty and Quantity Complete.

As far as to why the material wasn’t issued – what is your procedure on issuing material?  Are you backflushing?

Hi all

Another issue with production reporting.

The qty completed does not match qty received in job tracker.  Material issued is for qty completed.

Example:

JOB 123 for 10,000 widgets.

MES > Log in > Start Production Activity > Report Qty (500) > End Avtivity > Log Off

MES > Material tab > Material Queue > (hi-lite part to be Processed) > Process >Job Receipt to Inventory > (500 Reported moves into inventory)

0 Completed and 500 Received in JOB 123.  No material issued but 500 in inventory.  Resulting in $0.0 cost to produce pieces.

Any ideas what steps are being done wrong or ......?

thanks in advance
