Only 3 1/2/ months into 9.05 I discovered a major difference in COS calculations over previous versions of Vantage. That is, when shipping a standard cost method part from a job, Vantage used the actual costs from that job to COS. In 9.05, the COS is the standard cost of the part and the job variances go to a variance account. But I just found something in the Job Module set up that seems to be a way to duplicate the method from earlier Vantage.
From the description and field help definition, it sounds as if enabling the "Post (Direct Ship Standard Cost Job Variances) to Cost Of Sales" would produce the same result posted to COS as I was used to in Vantage 6.1. i.e now in Epicor if this option is enabled, COS would equal the standard cost of the part, plus and/or minus all material, labor, and burden variances on the job from which it was shipped.
Can any one confirm or disprove this? (I posed the question to Epicor - the response was clear as mud).
