How can a job be posted when it hasn’t even been completed or closed? Adjustments need to be made, but with it posted already the fields to enter adjustments are greyed out.
Can this be undone?
when you run WIP Cost Capture, it asks for a date… whatever date is used is the date that everything that has been done will be posted…
For companies that have long running jobs, it is necessary to capture transactions regularly in order to get them into the GL, even if the job is not yet closed.
I typically suggest that companies do the WIP Cost Capture with a date a little in the past (ie… 5 days ago) so that they can still make any corrections.
BUT in your case, since you have already captured the data, it is not possible to “correct” the transactions themselves, BUT you can make Job Adjustments using the adjustment process. This allows for any cost adjustments to be made after they have been posted.
