Job Entry Form Blank Title 85933

I would approach this with groups/users conditions in a BPM.

Create a group, assign people to the group and create a BPM exception if the
checkbox is changed by somebody in the group.

This does not turn the boxes to read-only or make them invisible, but it
ultimately prevents them from being checked.

Let me know if you need more details.

I am trying to customize our job entry form.

We want to lock down who can check the engineered and released boxes. My
first thought was to create separate forms that have the check boxes visible
and not visible, then assign who can access each custom form with security
groups.

When the job entry form first opens up it will correctly show/no show the
check boxes based on security. the problem comes when we actually pull up a
job. Either when typing in a job number and hitting TAB or when searching
for a job and hitting OK, once the job details are brought in the check
boxes for engineered and released appear again. I cannot find where I need
to edit the VB to have the check boxes NOT show up.

My second thought was to control the security of these check boxes. I
edited the security of the JobHead.JobReleased and JobHead.JobEngineered
fields to only allow certain security groups to access them. The problem
with this approach is if you are not in one of the privileged security
groups the green object bar that shows whether the job is engineered or
released will ALWAYS show grayed out. Even if a job is engineered and
released it still shows grayed out because the security access is not
granted to that user.

Obviously I am not a seasoned coder...Any help is appreciated.

During customization, if you mark the field as invisible it will not work.
You just have to drag it off the visible area and change TabStop into False.
