Job Closing - Error Message

I’m trying to close a job. When I type the job number, I get an error message -
Exception caught in: Ice.Lib.EpiClientLib

Error Detail
An error occurred trying to set a value of ‘-3.000000’ in an EpiNumericEditor. Message controls EpiBinding is ‘JobHead.ReceivedToStockQty’. Exception Message: The ‘Value’ property cannot be set to a value that is outside the range determined by the ‘MinValue’ and ‘MaxValue’ properties Ice.Lib.EpiClientLib.dll SetValueWithExceptionChecking

I went to Part Master and checked Min/Max values. They were both at 0 so I changed the Max to 10 (figured that way above the “3” is was faulting on). Went back to Job Closing. Same error message.

Any thoughts on how to get this job closed, please and thank you!!!

@Tricia,

Perhaps it’s that negative sign throwing it off, if the Min value is still set to 0?

Good luck,
Matthew Morgan

But you can’t put in a negative for min value stock. ??? How do I get around that?

Thanks!

Is this from Job Entry? What control on the module are you trying to enter? I guess I don’t understand the notion of a negative quantity being received. Has this error happened before?

I’ve done some digging this morning. It appears a supervisor used “Job Adjustment” with the -3 rather than just deleting a labor transaction in order to correct an incorrect entry by an employee. Of course, Capture and Post has already been done for last month, so I can’t remove the adjustment. Any thoughts??? Thanks!

That’s beyond my ken, I’m afraid.

Thanks - I appreciate your input. I’ll wait and see if anyone else has any insight. Have a great day!

It appears that someone “returned” 3 pieces to the job from stock when none had been received to stock from the job. Check the MFG-STK transactions for this job/part.

Beth - OK, yes, I see that. But how do I fix that? It was a transaction from last month that has already gone through Capture and Post.

Thanks!

Do you have a test system with current data from live?
Wonder if you can close the job if you add a new job adjust for +3?
And if so, then you could decide how to clean up the remaining damage.

You could do a Receipt to Stock for 3 pieces and that should bring the total to zero.

Thanks for your suggestions. No test database so just had to do it in Live. The Receipt to Stock did not work but going back to Adjustments and “reversing” that entry DID! Woot!!!

Thank you for the assist! Much appreciated!

Tricia

Glad to help and happy you were able to resolve it!

How did you resolve this?

She went into Job Adjustments and fixed it there.
