Nature and Scope:
Designs, develops and implements comprehensive computer based information systems and telephony solutions to ensure users needs are met and data is processed according to company specifications and requirements. Defines user information requirements by conferring with users and analyzing functions. Recommends and develops computer-based business solutions. Plans system applications and assigns staff to develop, test and complete programs. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and offers solutions to enhance effectiveness. Prepares and maintains technical specifications and related documentation to secure procedures and prevent systems failure. Responsible for company's technology disaster recovery plan. Research and recommends hardware and software purchases. Negotiates pricing with vendors to ensure cost-effective systems purchasing decisions. Improves existing software programs and develops new applications to meet future business needs. Ensures that hardware and software is maintained and secured with proper back-ups and training. Manages and controls departmental human resources and expenses effectively. Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively. Maintains up to date information on technology affective functional area to increase innovation and ensure compliance.
Education and Experience:
RequiredBS/BA in computer science or equivalent; Minimum 10 years of progressively more responsible experience in information systems department management in a medium to large size firm with a minimum of 3 years of Epicor management experience. Solid technical information of AS 400, networks, digital and satellite technology, telephony and PC based applications. Proven project management, problem solving, and broad management expertise, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Solid writing skills. Thorough understanding of general business, financial and related procedures.
