Jim,

Did you get enough of an answer on this? I'm in the midst of setting up Multi-Company (direct, no Sonic) to add our UK subsidiary. Although there are many things you can do INTRA companies, you don't have to set any of those up right off the bat (we aren't). Once implemented without any of that stuff, all the users see is as though you are running completely separate Epicor instances for each company. Both companies' data are stored in the same physical database, but each record will have a company identifier.


As time munches on, we'll be implementing things like transfer orders and consolidated books, but not biting those chunks off yet.

Yes, We are 905.702A SQL and use multi-company direct instead of sonic.

I concur with Mark,
We use in on 9.05.701.  It works ok, but it was a bit of  a struggle to get it up and running. Test thouroughly before you configure in live.
