IP address change

If you are using DHCP go to your DHCP server and create a reservation for
it. That is a much easier way to keep track of things than hard coding it
on a machine and you don't have to tell DHCP not to assign that address.

Having done so I can no longer connect from my PC's.

Scanned REGEDIT on the PC's and cannot find a specific IP address for my
Vantage server.

Anybody know what the issue is with changing IP addresses on Vantage
servers?

( gotta be something silly and I'm just not seeing it .. )

I need to change the IP address of my server.

Having done so I can no longer connect from my PC's.

Todd,

If you are using Active Directory... Changes to some settings affecting
Active Directory (I can't remember what) have taken overnight to resolve on
our network. Don't know if this applies.

Hosts file is empty.

SERVICES file only has port #'s - no IP addresses

"Name" of the server has not changed.

Got it - I'm just getting old and stupid ...

IP address is hard coded in the VTG files for the icons.

It's only been like 4 years since I set those up. You'd think I'd remember
that ...

Charles,

I've been using xxx.xxx.xxx.010 through xxx.xxx.xxx.019 for my main servers
for a long time.

Just purchased 5 used servers to replace my core boxes so I need to play a
game of chess ... Move my old boxes "out of the way", setup the new boxes,
and then migrate everything from old to new. Along with that I'll be
upgrading from NT-Server to 2003-Server and from Exchange 5.5 to
Exchange-2003. Of course I'll still be on Vantage V4 but that's another
story ...

FYI -

2 x Dell 2500's - 6x36 drives - 2 gig ram - 20/40 dds4 tape - each
3 x Dell 2550's - 4x18 drives - 2 gig ram - no tape drive

$ 6,523 ... delivered ... for the 5

About $ 1,200/box plus shipping.

IP address is hard coded in the VTG files for the icons.

It's only been like 4 years since I set those up. You'd think I'd remember
