Inverse indented BOM

, ,

The ICE Tools User Guide 10.1.600 has an example of an indented bill of materials BAQ that I have set up successfully. What I am trying to do now is basically do the inverse; instead of picking the parent part and seeing all of the child parts, I would like to pick a child part and see all of the parent parts, all the way to the top level.

We have BOMs with 70+ levels, and so we would like to see what the cost roll up of say, a washer is, which could be used at the lowest level in multiple assemblies and is thus multiplied by each parent part quantity. I’ve tried modifying the indented BOM BAQ, but so far it is returning 0 rows.

This is basically the Where Used report run with the Indented option

we use this BAQ in a dashboard

IndentWU.baq (36.9 KB)

Import From File C:\Users\meissnef\Downloads\IndentWU.baq
Can't import query definition from version latter than current: 3.2.200.0
Query import finished with error(s)

Appreciate you sending it Bernie, but is this is a very complicated BAQ? Any chance you could send along some screenshots?

Grabbed this one from our old 10.1.500 system…
