I am looking to do some inventory transfers on parts that are marked as buy to order, however, they are not being dropped shipped. We like to do a buy to order so we can tie the PO and SO together, however, we do at times need to transfer inventory from one warehouse to another.
I keep getting the message “There is not enough unallocated inventory in this bin for this transaction.” Is there a way to overcome this?
The issue is, once you receive a BTO, it is instantly allocated to that order. The only way we’ve been able to overcome this is to receive it into inspection and put it where we need to when we release it from inspection.
There may be a way to break the link to the SO, but then it would be available to allocate to other orders.
Thanks for the feedback. My problem is we may have it shipped to our remote warehouse, but then decide to move it to our main plant. We also were hoping to utilize AMM (Advance Material Management) and have it received into the receiving warehouse and then move it to the actual location when received as it the receiving warehouse was the inspection or in transit warehouse.
I was trying to find the allocation in Fulfilment workbench to break the allocated inventory, move it and then allocate it again, but I cannot find it in the workbench.
I wonder how many other people experience this as well.
