Cameron, I think what Jason is referring to is the ability to Start your
count Jan. 4 and post it back to Dec. 31 Jason I usually use the adjust
quantity menu choice to post my counts. I have control of the date that
way.

Yes, I would be happy to explain that.

Normally when conducting a full inventory you are, at a minimum, doing it
at
year end. It is generally very difficult, if not impossible, to complete
a
full inventory, enter the counts, review for errors, recount suspect
items,
make corrections, and then post the final inventory in one day. You want
the inventory posted as of the last day of your fiscal year. That is the
date you select for the group creation date. During the year when you are
doing cycle counts you create those dates for the cut off date for that
cycle count. This lets you have all your inventory year end adjusting
entries have the same date. If you have any other questions please
contact
me by phone or e-mail. I hope this helps.

Has anybody else wondered why when you do a full vantage inventory
and then post you results why it goes by the group creation date
instead of the actual posted date to calculate the transactions.
Or
If someone could explain why this happens this way to me that would
be great.

When you do any other transaction in Vantage you can select the date
to be posted or run why can't you do this in Inventory - count entry.

Or is this corrected in 5.1 because I am running 5.0
