I'm looking for some insights on why the help file says that phantom pack function cannot be used for international shipments. We use Agile Connect and want to be able to process fedex or UPS international shipments using phantom packs.
My initial testing appears to indicate that it works and haven't been able to get an answer.
Anyone have any knowledge or experience with this?
We use Insite and have been able to use phantom pack. I just checked a shipment that went to the United Kingdom. There were 2 boxes and we used phantom ship.

We also use Insite Manifest and use phantom packs all the time for international shipments to both China and Ireland. Sometimes we'll use a freight forwarder, but most often they are direct shipments.
I guess we're bumblebees who didn't read the help file first and don't know we can't fly.

The issue has to do with HTS codes and NAFATA requirements (there may be others). If you do your export paperwork outside of the system, you can do it. Phantom packs don't have all the export coding needed to properly fill out the paperwork automatically.
You can set the codes in the Part Maintenance Screen.
You can set the Commodity Codes on Detail tab of Part Maintenance.
More codes  can be found under the Integration tab > Manifest Info.
We have a BPM that populates the ECCN Number, Export License Type, NAFTA Preference Code, etc.
All our paperwork comes from inside the system.
