Inspection Module with multiple tests

Hi all,

I need some parts to be inspected when they are being received which is no problem. I have configured the test plans and entered them in the Part Revision. The PO will have the “need inspection” box ticked and when the parts are being received, they are automatically moved to the inspection BIN. All fine so far.

Now I need one person to perform the first test and after this test is successfully completed, another person should perform the next test. Only after a successful second test then item should be moved to another BIN.

The problem is that when the first person enters the first test results in the inspection processing screen, the second test defaults to pass and the Received Line has no longer the inspection pending tickbox marked and therefore the parts are no longer available in the search results.

Is there a way to keep the parts in the inspection state until all tests have test data entered with tests being performed by different people?

Thanks
Wim

Are you using two separate Inspections or one with both tests?

I have 2 different inspections. The first inspection is executed by warehouse receiving and identifies of the package was in good order, contained right amount of qty and shipping documents. The second inspection is an engineer that checks specific attributes of the part.
The problem I have is that after the first inspection is completed, the item is moved from INS to STK and therefore second inspection can not be executed anymore

The only way, I am able to perform the second inspection is to create a non-conformance on the item after first inspection is completed but that is not really a solution.

Are the Inspection Plans the same name/rev? What about the Specifications?

2 different Inspection Plans with different names. Also different specifications. See test example:

Thanks for looking into this!

That is interesting. I will have to try testing it out to see if I can make it work. We don’t have any parts with 2 inspections.

I would really appreciate it if you can do a test on your side. Thanks!

I have logged a case with Epicor as well and they are investigating this as well.
