We have a component part that is part of two unapproved revisions of a finished part BOM. The only approved BOM revision uses a different component part all together.
There is no open sales order and no open demand for the component. We do not use package control.
There was an old closed job that used the previous BOM with the component and the material was not issued. So we re-opened the job and issued the material thinking this could be the problem, however we still are unable to inactivate the part. The checkbox is disabled.
I can find no reason for the inactive box to be unavailable for this part.
Any QOH? And don’t go by the Net QOH. You could have 10 in Bin A and -10 in Bin B. That’s a net zero QOH but you can’t inactivate it while any bins have any qty’s
Every time I’ve had that issue, it was the QOH. Please update this if you end up having something else going on here…what about running one of the Refresh Part Quantities on Hand in Pilot - Report Only! and seeing what those results are for that part?
So there is apparently un-firm job demand quantity. So if I run report & update, will that remove that demand and will it affect anything else? There is no real demand. there are no firm or un-firm jobs using this part.
If you look at the second row (“After”) - it gives you what the value will be after running the update. In this case, it looks like it would set that part’s Unfirm Demand Qty to 0, so that sounds like what you want.
Make sure you do NOT run it wide open. Run it for ONLY that part. (I’ve done it wide open accidentally before - what a nightmare.)
