We are trying to import a product configurator .XML file in E10 that we exported from E9. When we click on the import configurator we receive this error: No configuration status record was found in the imported data
We tried to import the XML both as approved and unapproved from E9 and either way we get the same message. Anyone see this before?
Hmm. i have never tried that, and my first thought is that it just isn’t possible. I have seen configurators UPGRADED from E9 to E10 using the normal upgrade process, but even then, many of the items in the configurator will need to be touched/edited because of the Progress to C# conversion.
ALSO, E9 & E10 architecture are totally different, so there may simply be too many boundaries being crossed with the import.
Thanks Tim. I figured we would get some errors but thought at least the designer pages might show up if we got past the status issue
Is there anyway to run the upgrade just for the configurators and nothing else? We plan on starting with a new E10 database and not migrate the E9 Data
There is not technically a way to do this but you could create a new E9 environment with a matching company, and minimal configuration, and then import the configurators and related dependencies into this environment. Once that is done you could convert this new E9 to E10 and have what you are looking for. Having been through quite a few of these and the struggles with how well the conversion handles the migration, I do wonder if this would really save you much time - but may be worth a shot.
