IIS .Net v4.5 App Pools Needed?

I’ve been tossed into the deep end of the (App) Pool, and am learning a lot about the installation and management of the Epicor servers. My experience is Epicor, minus the server admin!

IIS shows .NET v4.5, .NET v4.5 Classic, and DefaultAppPools listed in the Application Pools section, in addition to our production instance. We’re on 2023.2 currently, upgrading to 2024.2 in February.

With 2024.1 adopting .Net8, will I still need the .Net v4.5’s? What are those used for?

Same w/ DefaultAppPool. Is this just out of the box IIS, and I should leave them in place?

You should be fine with just leaving them as is. This is out of the box IIS
