We are on our second week of go-live, and boy, has it been quite the eventful past week. Here is my situation- we have uploaded into all of the jobs (around 800) a due date, but they are not appearing on the schedule, and the demand is therefor not appearing in MRP. I need to get these scheduled, and from my understanding, since I put in the due date it should calculate the final operation date and other details as well. We can go into each job and schedule it, but that would be quite laborious for an already stretched team. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Well, MRP does a soft scheduling to calculate all of the dates, and then yes, Global Scheduling would schedule all of the jobs based on your scheduling parameters.
I am concerned though that you are running MRP and not getting dates and suggestions out of it. You DO NOT have to run scheduling for MRP to pick up the demand. You may have something wrong with your setup. Who implemented for you? I would think about contacting them.
It looks like we are picking up demand once there is a due date, but it is still not appearing as scheduled. I tried running global scheduling in our test environment, but I am not seeing anything pop up with a final operation. Weird!
Yes, there is a flag on each part that tells the engine if MRP should evaluate it. Also, there is a setting on Site (I think) that determines when material dates get calculated.
If running Generate Shop Capacity, Global Scheduling Order then Global Rescheduling doesn’t help…
I would first try to schedule 1 job and see if you get any errors. If you don’t and have access to the DMT, there is a Schedule Job DMT that can be run.
