How to Log CPU Usage and find out what consumed it - IIS worker pool

Hello All,

I can’t seem to understand what is causing the CPU on our IIS worker pool to rise and then stay at that usage.

On Friday November 5th I found it at 60% in the afternoon and it stayed at 60% the rest of the evening until I recycled the app pool.

Then we found it again today at 65% and it stayed there for about an hour, but crept up to 78% when we decided to recycle the app pool.

Can anyone link me to anything that would help me troubleshoot what is going on with the CPU usage?

I would appreciate it greatly! Thank you!

is there any correlated spike in SQL data or sql server cpu usage?

Nah, none. Nothing on the task agent server either.

Going to set up perfmon on app server CPU process to understand exactly when the CPU is starting to build. I have app server logging turned on, but I can’t determine one method call from another in terms of high impact on the system.
