Write yourself a BAQ (and use it in a menu enabled simple dashboard) to show supervisors/managers (at end of each shift) which employees have 'forgotten' to clock out.
Since not doing so DOES cause you such problems (particularly if you are using Vantage for attendance/payroll - let alone the pain in the complication it causes to do simple labor entry corrections via Labor Entry - as that is based upon Clock In date - not activity date) - it would not be unreasonable to insist that people are required to reliably & accurately clock in and out. (Make it a written policy, provide ample training and then enforce it as you would any critical written policy work rule.)
(Ask those that still 'forget'Â if they don't mind not getting paid for the 'missing' clock in pay dates because they 'forgot' to effectively punch in and out days - even weeks - ago... They will quickly get the message.)
If you're using clock in/out for time and attendance (and payroll) it is not a new thing that people are required to do it accurately (or they can find a job somewhere that doesn't care). That is their 'time card' (and effectively - the basis of their paycheck as well as any sick day, paid vacation, late/on-time company employee policy measures).

Subject: [Vantage] How to ensure MES users remember to clock off V 8.03.406a
Â
How do people cope with users forgetting to clock off when they go home? Currently it is handled by manually adjusting the users time when they login in the next day through labour entry. But this tends to be time consuming. The bigger problem is at end of month because the WIP capture has to happen just prior to midnight on the last day of the month (because of existing design feature/flaw) which means the labour entries cannot be adjusted the next day and manual corrections for payroll purposes are needed
