How many time do you run backups?

We're the same here 1 during lunch and 1 at the end of the day. It was
mentioned in a previous message but it sounds like you are running the same
online backup twice a day generating only the backup.1 file. I would highly
recommend copying and modifying the online backup bat file to make a .1 for
midday and a .2 for end of day and then schedule each backup daily. That
way you are not overwriting your midday file with your end of day file.
Just my opinion.

Question is when I go live is there any reason to do the backup more
than twice a day

We are running a Dedicated Petnium III 866 dual processor HP
Netserver3000

What are you guys doing for your backups?

I'm setup the same, 2 online backups per day, tape drive hits everything but
the vantage/db folder and training databases.

I have the bat files run live backups every three hours through out the
actual work day and save them as separate files relevant to the time of day.
That way if worse comes to worse all we lose is about three hours of data to
be re-entered.

We also do 2 Vantage online backups each day. One at lunch time when activity is low and another after most people have left for the day. That midday backup has been a
blessing a couple of times. Then we do our full backup overnight.

We run our back ups at 3AM, 9AM, 3PM, 6PM, 9PM.

I set up an at schedule using the online backup bat file. I name the
files accordingly. I back these up to a separate physical drive. I
would like to back up more often but it just slows us up so much.
