I met today with an Epicor consultant about best practices for updates going forward. He said I need to go to the upgrade services portal and sign up to get emails whenever a new release, update or hotfix is made available. For the life of me I can’t find any place to do that. I get no regular emails from Epicor (except support cases). I don’t want to have to fish the EpicWeb site all the time looking for anything new that may pertain to us.
Does anyone know where I can get these emails?
TIA
I only know how to do it through Classic.
- Open up the Classic System Monitor
- Go to the Actions Menu
- Select Notifications Preferences
- Enter your info
Pretty sure that’s only for cloud. For on prem you can’t get email notifications, you can try on epicweb but they never work. There are new dot releases every 2 weeks. I never bother with those unless i know there is a fix we need. The major releases are always in May and October, and Epicor always sends out emails about those (Pretty sure to everyone).
True, we are on premises and there is no Notifications Preference menu item on our System Monitor. So it sounds like I go fishing every couple of weeks instead of getting an email. Not my desired outcome but not the biggest fish I’m frying now anyway. Thanks
You might be able to use your Notification Inbox on EpiCare. Not sure if they send you a notice there for updates.
I don’t think they send notice for updates through EpicCare. I haven’t see one and I have notices going back to 2020.
I have them, but again I am cloud.
What I do is go to the version I want updates on:
Once I log in, I click on the “Library” tab. I then select Alert Me and fill in the information.
This may not be what you wanted, but it is a way to get updates on when files get added or updated…
I don’t have any screen like that. Are you on premises or cloud?
I see. I don’t a library page on my sharepoint. I think I’ll have to create it first.
My bad. I was going to our Epicor Project Sharepoint sire. Following your link took me to that page. Thanks.
Is there a way to filter for just Kinetic versions?
not that I know of. They’ve altered these libraries in prep for combining with EpicCare, at least that’s what I heard, and in doing so they ‘broke’ the alerts for the file repo’s that we download from. It only works on the Doc repo now, so this is the link you need. Every time they issue a release or patch, you’ll get a documentation change as well - and that’s where this alert comes in.
Over time I don’t get many, but quite a few are for products I don’t use.
