The Manufacturing Engineering supports the General Manager to strategize, lead, facilitate and execute quality projects using various manufacturing principles and processes to improve productivity and deliver results.
Productivity Improvement
• Identifies and prioritizes opportunities with Production Manager to improve productivity throughout the facility.
• Trains, coaches, and challenges production in the use of lean and statistical tools, approaches and techniques to create process management and measurement systems.
• Evaluates and recommends the best solutions to given problems, weighing the economic return and compatibility with layout of plant facilities. Upon approval, develop implementation plan and lead the roll out of the new process and procedures.
Operation Facilitation
• Performs manufacturing methods studies to analyze and determine optimum process and methods.
• Implements cost reduction projects for methods, processes, and materials on present manufactured products.
• Identifies new equipment and manufacturing technologies and makes recommendations regarding equipment, plant changes in manufacturing facilities, including material flow and plant design
• Works with the Production Manager to implement the installation of new equipment or manufacturing technologies.
• Develops and implement operational procedures and manufacturing routings and production standards.
• Designs and implement use of tooling and machinery necessary to implement advised processes and methods.
• Aligns local quality efforts and team with divisional and corporate leadership to drive an effective quality assurance and improvement strategy.
Plant Safety
• Assures compliance with Federal and State environmental health and safety standards.
• Leads, inspects and evaluates the workplace environment, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
• Authorized to take immediate action in the event of employee noncompliance with safety rules and standards.
• Recommends and leads the implementation of measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
Job Skills
• Data base management skills to efficiently sort and upload data
• Mathematical skills with respect to data management, statistics and probability
• Proficiency with ERP systems
• Knowledge of process improvement models such as Six Sigma or Kaizen 55
Education:
• AS Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 2 Years Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Additional:
• EPICOR experience a PLUS
• Must be able to travel to NJ for one week training
