I have asked this question already but feel I may have not explained well enough so am trying again. The code I have thus far is what I have pieced together from searching the internet.
What I have done is placed a button on the MES form and want to open the Issue Material form with the Job and Operation populated.
What the code does now is the button on the MES Form does work and my message boxes do show the Job and Operation. It then opens the Issue Material Form and the message box displays properly there but the Issue Material Form does not populate the job.
I am only trying to get the Job to populate with the code I have but ultimately want to populate the job and operation.
//THIS IS THE CODE ON THE MES FORM WHICH I ADDED MY OWN BUTTON
I just responded to your other post, generally, creating a new post for an existing topic is frowned upon. Check out my response on the other thread.
In general, many forms have different ways they process the data you pass (and the type of data they expect) - unfortunately, they only way to know what the form expects is to decompile the DLL.
Okay understood I should not create a new post. Very new to this but I am all we have to try. I can close this post but don’t know how. I will work off the other post and hopefully get it to work. I have most of my day open tomorrow so this will be my objective.
No Worries pal. I’m sure we can get you there but it’s gonna take some homework from you. I’d suggest starting with a trace. Do you know how to do epicor tracing? If not, there should be lots of posts here.
If so:
Open your ISSUE form
Turn on tracing
Do the steps you want to happen (create new issue, enter job#, enter asm, etc)
Stop the trace, view the trace
This will expose all of the BO’s (business objects) and the methods called from them to do what you want. From there, we’ll need to replicate that in code.
Also shameless plug - if this turns out to be abit above your comfort level, there are tons of great consultants here among the forum who could do this job in a couple of hours.
So that’s a loaded question. As per the rules of the forum, consultants are prohibited from poaching. The goal of this forum is for self help and as a result, it would be counter-productive for consultants to say “Hey I can fix that for X dollars”.
Consultants are listed with a title. Here’s one that comes to mind - probably because he’s like the superman of Epicor manipulation.
To be fair, I work for him so, for the sake of transparency, here’s another regular
You best bet is to do some digging on the forums and taste test some of the abilities or even personalities of the many consultants we have. From there, you can request help from them as you need. Each consultant will have different processes for getting started and also different rates.
Aside from skill and rates, another important question to ask is availability. Some guys are booked beyond belief. Be sure to be explicit on your time expectations regardless of who you talk with.
If you made an explicit post looking for a consultant, I am sure you would be bombarded with offers so I dont even know if that’s a suggested path. @josecgomez@rbucek@jgiese.wci Your thoughts?
At any rate, you can easily view all users (and their titles) here:
