Help..Can not log on to Vantage

Thank you all very much! I installed the latest patch and it took care of
the problem.

In addition to all suggestions, and in a worst case scenario:

Before you shutdown the server or do anything else: make sure you have a
current back up. Make it the last thing you do before rebooting. Don't
just overwrite your last back up either (it might be your last good one).
Put a back up on a fresh tape....

I think this should be SOP in any situation like this, where your database
is doing something which doesn't jive with the books.

HTH, good luck!

Paul

Lori,

I will be the one to throw in the decent.

To me it looks like your data has been brought up to date, but the
program is behind. Like someone restored some files to the Vantage
server that were incompatible with the current patch. Can you confirm
that the last patch level you installed was 5.2 patch 316? If that is
the case, I would say a file or more got restored to the original
release of 5.2 I would say this happened this morning. I would take
the path of installing the patch 323 that is available on the Epicor
site. Run the database conversions and you should be gold, and at the
latest patch for 5.2 to boot.

All of this advice is "use at your own risk". I would defiantly temper
my advice with a call to support to get their recommendation.

Good luck,

Hope this helps.

I'm with Mario. Looks like schema changes might have been run, but they
need to login as Manager and let the database conversion run. First
they
need to install the new version of the Vantage/Progress client on the
client
machines. Or at least one of them for now.

I only have seen this error "Data and Vantage are not in the same
version-patch" when I updated patches or versions of Vantage and have
not
run Schema Changes. Have you done any of those over the weekend? If
so,
you
might need to run database conversions of some sort, schema changes or
whatever they recommend with the installed patch. If you have not

in
MMC to clean all connections and see if it allows you to login again.

Hope this helps.

For starters...try reinstalling the client for one of them and see if they can get in. If not that then uninstall the Progress Client and reinstall Vantage on the clicent (with Progress). By chance have you recently installed a new patch release?

I uninstalled and reinstalled both Vantage and Progress. We still get the

I hesitate restarting the server for fear that no one will be able to log

In addition to all suggestions, and in a worst case scenario:

Before you shutdown the server or do anything else: make sure you have a
current back up. Make it the last thing you do before rebooting. Don't
just overwrite your last back up either (it might be your last good one).
Put a back up on a fresh tape....

I think this should be SOP in any situation like this, where your database
is doing something which doesn't jive with the books.

HTH, good luck!

If you have not
install
a
patch or anything like that, I will try to stop and start the database
in
MMC to clean all connections and see if it allows you to login again.

Hope this helps.

Importance: High

This morning everyone was able to log on to Vantage. Now if you close
Vantage and try to log back on it gives the following error msg:
'Incompatible Program (520308)/Data (520316) Version. The people that
have
not closed Vantage are still working fine. Can anyone tell me what it
going
on?
